Just after 6 years of its foundation, Microsoft acquired FSLogix in the last quarter of 2018. In this article, I will walk you through FSLogix Office 365 Container setup. Remember UPD (User Profile Disk)? Microsoft introduced it in server 2012. It is a great solution that allows moving the entire user profile to a VHD file. In UPD settings you define, the location (for High Availability, you can place UPDs on a clustered file share) where UPDs will be saved, and what do you want to include in the UPD. When a user logs in, a VDH file is created […]
On 17 December 2019, Citrix identified a vulnerability that could allow an unauthenticated attacker to perform arbitrary code execution in Citrix ADC (Application delivery Controller) or NetScaler ADC or NetScaler Gateway. This vulnerability affects Citrix ADC and VPX on any host/SDX. Further investigation by Citrix has shown that this issue also affects certain deployments of Citrix SDWAN, specifically Citrix SDWAN WANOP edition. The vulnerability has been assigned CVE number – CVE-2019-19781. Citrix has released mitigation steps that every customer with affected appliance should apply until a fixed refresh build is available. Keep track of the timelines at https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX267027 or you […]
Back in XenApp 6.5, publishing applications from Individual or a specific servers in Citrix XenApp was not a big deal but Citrix discontinued that along with other options in XenApp 7.x (7.0 – 7.11). In XenApp 7.12, Citrix resurrected that option but not exactly similar to 6.5. You might have been using Tags to create Power management schedules, restricting desktop launches to certain machines within a Delivery group or to filter Citrix Policies based on tags attached to Virtual Machines. Now you can leverage tags to force applications to open only from tagged machines within a Delivery Group with the […]
Migration of Print Server or Citrix Universal Print Server to a public cloud like Microsoft Azure is no different from the migration of print queues between two on-premises print servers within or across DataCenters. A public cloud offering like Microsoft Azure allows you to either migrate the print server from on-premises to an Azure region with the help of ASR (Azure Site Recovery) or export-import of print queues from an on-premises print server to a print server VM in Azure. ASR should be your first choice, as it will migrate the whole VM from on-premises to Azure. All you have […]
File type association is a process of attaching an extension (.txt) with a handler (notepad.exe). File Type Association in Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop is no different from windows operating system. In this article, we will see how to use Citrix WEM (Workspace Environment Manager) to configure per user FTA. I will also share some other methods like GPO, Logon Scripts, etc. The easiest and hassle free method to configure FTA is through GPO. All you have to do is export FTAs using DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management) and push the Default Association Configuration File using a Group Policy Object. […]
To answer How to change Date and Time in a Citrix Session requires proper assessment of the business requirements. Changing the Date and Time may be required for a single application, all applications published from a Delivery Group, all desktops in a Delivery Group, or a set of users.
If users report that their saved credentials in Google Chrome or Internet Explorer launched through Citrix are not roaming with their sessions, however, within an active session, saved credentials persist then there are strong reasons to doubt that files and folders that hold saved username and password are not part of users’ roaming profile. Roaming saved credentials is easier now but it wasn’t the case few years back. You can find an interesting battle of thoughts to achieve the persistence of saved credentials right here. Comments from Eastwood Clinton and Jeremy are worth a mention. That was past, let’s see […]
